We went here instead of going to Robertos because it is right up the street from our house. Upon entering there was only one or two other people inside. The guy behind the register was friendly and we ended up placing three separate meals. I ordered the #1 which is 4 rolled tacos with beans and rice. My girlfriend ordered a chicken torts and fish, carnitas and steak tacos along with a churro. Our friend ordered the asada plate.

My meal -- the rolled tacos were overcooked and due to them being overcooked it made it hard to eat. The beans and rice did not have much flavor and I skipped them entirely.

My girlfriends food-- she enjoyed the steak tacos but did not like the fish and carnitas. The torta was too salty in her opinion and after a couple of bites that was discarded as well.

Carnitas plate -- our friend rated his plate a solid 3 and kept telling us how he would rather have Robertos "all day"

Next time, I know where we will be going. It is just a little further up the street but well worth the drive for the taste and fresh food!

I don't know if this is a sister brand of don tortaco because for years this location was a don tortaco and now these guys are here. Food sucks, I'm not gonna waste any more of my time on these idiots. But just avoid!

How do they have such great ratings???

Stopped in for dinner. Don Tortaco is our usual spot, but the people working their drive-through lately have been painfully bad at their jobs. So we try La Mejor. Walk in and the owners (I think?) are sitting at a table with the cashier standing with them, having a chat. We already knew what we were ordering so we're standing at the register. And standing. And standing some more. Once they finished their personal conversation, we were allowed to order. The cashier just stood there and stared at us as a way of taking our order. Cool.

We got our food suspiciously fast. We each had the asada nachos. They were not good. They fill the container three-quarters of the way full of plain, unsalted chips and then put some vaguely sweet refried beans in the middle, then a sprinkle of imitation cheddar that does not melt on top, then sour cream, bland-ass salsa, and then a shit-ton of steak that has zero flavor on top. Oh, and a tablespoon of green stuff that I think was supposed to be guacamole but had zero flavor as well. This was literally a container of dry chips that I had to try and stack the meat and beans on top of. It was not good.

The lame service and shitty nachos means we won't be back. Does anyone know where to get good nachos?

Tiny hole in the wall restaurant behind Lee's Discount Liquor on Maryland Prkwy. You can miss it if you weren't paying attention. Decided to try this place out since it's just around the corner from us. There are only 5 tables or so in here so it's not a place to have a big group gathering but definitely worth stopping in and trying their birria tacos... OMG they are delicious!!! So full of flavor and so tender!!! I'd go again JUST for those tacos...
The reason that I didn't give them 5 stars??? Their chile rellano... It was a disappointment... The cheese inside AND outside weren't melted (look at the picture)... How is that possible??? It tasted as if the rellano was microwaved ... Not freshly made in house... In other words, I've had better.
But don't get me wrong,  I'll go back for birria but not the chile rellano... And that's just my personal opinion...
